Just came across this site and noticed that a new release of the Box of Frog albums has taken place with bonus tracks. Do you know if Rory Gallagher guests on the the bonus tracks. I'm a huge fan of Rory. Milo www.shadowplays.com/blog

hi Milo, great to get your inquiry about Rory! i'm a huge fan of Rory's work myself. it was so good to work and hang out with him. i'm not sure what the bonus tracks are on the re-released Frogs albums, i think they're released on Esoteric Recordings through Cherry Red Records. i'll have to see what i can find out for you, and maybe if you contact either company, they may have some information. as far as i remember, the tracks Rory played on, were all released as major tracks, there were no other performances that we didn't use. i hope this helps you Milo, stay in touch! Peace, john.

Peace, john. Thanks John, the bonus tracks listed for Box of Frogs are; "X-Tracks" and "Nine Lives", and "I Keep Calling" for Strange Land. I'll try to get info from Esoteric on the lineup for those songs. Rory had an incredible sound, didn't he? I do a small fan site and blog in honor of the man. Check it out sometime! I see you both did covers of "Walkin' Blues". Great song. Best Regards, Milo www.shadowplays.com/blog

The USA cassette edition of "Strange Land" had two bonus tracks not available on LP: "I Keep Calling" and "20/20 Vision". Line-up for both were Chris Dreja (rhythm guitar, percussion), Jim McCarty (drums, percussion, backing vocals, keyboards), Paul Samwell-Smith (bass, backing vocals), John Fiddler (vocals), Steve Hackett (lead guitar), Dzal Martin (guitar). "20/20 Vision" also adds Peter-John Vettese (synthesiser solo and brass) and David Clayton (synthesisers). Sadly only "I keep Calling" was included with the re-issue CD.
One of the bonus tracks on the first album was "X-Tracks". This was originally a single B-side with highlights from the album, mixing together "Two Steps Ahead", "Just A Boy Again", "Harder", "Another Wasted Day" and "Back Where I Started".

Sven, I'm sorry, but that's not correct - at least for "I Keep Calling."
On that track, the guitar solo is by Jimmy Page, not Hackett.
The credits for this tune are stated on the Esoteric booklet: "Page also featured on the song, 'I Keep Calling', which appeared on the B-side of the band's 1986 12" UK single 'Average'. "
