We just wanted to say how much we're loving the song 'Rising Sun' by Medicine Head. We can't stop playing it - it's brill - one of the best songs ever!!! ;D (It kinda passed me by in '73 but I was only 11 at the time - and I did buy One & One is One!!! - Sue) 'Rising Sun' is one of the most under-rated songs of the last century (okay - the 70's n stuff) - seriously - so why is it so impossible to get hold of ? - took us 2 weeks of searching on the internet ! - and, we notice, it's about the only track that you can't listen to on Last.Fm Anyway, peace n luv n daisies n stuff ;D

Disc reviewing it at the time called it 'psychedelic reggae' ;D
Not a style greatly in evidence from many other bands.

Another Reviewer (John Peel i belive ) suggested that it incorporates a sound like a drayhorse breaking wind !
- but it all works wonderfully, quite timeless in it's appeal, of course it is certainly not alone in that regard when it comes to John's Songs.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I also love this song and have so many fond memories of my dad taking the stage and giving to the people that awesome performance that has made his music a timeless masterpiece. I would like to see him taking the stage, as he deserves to, in some of the BIG UK events of 2008... Lets all try and make it happen people!! What I would like to see is 2 reunited hippys taking the stage together... Peter Hope-Evans with the jews harp etc. and the mighty John Fiddler with guitar, drum, etc.!! The popularity contest would be won easily me thinks Anyways everyone... Peace love n daisys n stuff!!

Psychodelic reggae? Drayhorse breaking wind? Whaaat??? Shame on you, John Peel (if that is indeed who said this?)!!!! And. yes, we think John should do some festie appearances, with or without the other Medicine Heads ;D We've put a note on the forum of the Rhythm Festival saying this The Rhythm Festival is a really friendly festival, which, this year, is going to be held the last w/e of August (29th-31st, we think - remind us to buy a new calendar?!? ) It's held on an old ww2 airfield near Bedford (apparently, it's the airfield that Glen Miller flew from when he disappeared?! - so there' also a Glen Miller museum there). It's a really good site and has 2 stages. The music there is 60's style R&B (no, not the s*****t the hoodies play , folk, punk and reggae/ska - so we think that John Fiddler/Medicine Head would go down a storm there! ;D The website is www.rhythmfestival.net, if anyone wants to check it out. The organiser, Jim, also runs a music night at The 100 Club in London.

I had the (now priceless I shouldn't wonder) Rising Sun sticker on my motorbike...which was probably worth more than the motorbike! Rising Sun is a timeless beauty.

I'm a MH fan from '73, in fact MH was 'my' first band and One and One is One my first album. I have a few of the old albums and most of the singles. Later in '73 (at the tender age of 13!) I got into The Who and they have been my main band since. Imagine my surprise then when listening to/watching Deep End by Pete Townshend and seeing some of his solo concerts since that his harmonica player is none other than Peter Hope-Evans! An unexpected pleasure for me. Thanks for the music John, MH were and still are a great band. Roger.
